Total Dental Tips For September
At Total Dental care, we strive to be South Carolina’s premiere oral health care center.
Our team understands that your time is valuable and your needs are often varied. That’s why our Columbia office (on St. Andrews Road) is set up to be a “one-stop-shop” for all of your family’s dental solutions.
Depending on your needs and budget, we have the knowledge and experience to provide you with dental implants, porcelain veneers, tooth-colored fillings, gum treatment, metal-free crowns, CEREC same-day crowns, dentures and partials, root canals, TMD treatment, ClearCorrect and Six-Month Smiles braces, and Lumineers.
If you feel anxious about visiting us for any of those procedures, we will quickly put you at ease with our multiple options for sedation dentistry.
We are also here to provide preventative services and regular family check ups. We especially like to collaborate with families to ensure that good oral health habits start young.
As such, we have a few tips to keep you in check.
Get A Good Brush
You probably don’t need a dentist to tell you that most oral hygiene practices are largely undertaken at home, without supervision or professional direction.
We trust you already know that brushing your teeth is the first building block for good oral health and we hope that you and your family are diligent in this practice.
But we thought it would be worth reminding you that for maximum effectiveness, you really need to select a good toothbrush, brush twice a day with it (for several minutes), and replace your brush often.
Brushing your teeth will make your mouth feel fresher. But more importantly, it will fight off cavities and gum disease.
Find Some Dental Floss
Trust us, treating cavities, tooth loss, and periodontal disease is a lot more unpleasant than taking a minute to floss every day and prevent these things.
Tartar and plaque will lay low where you never see them (or touch them with a brush), and flossing will effectively flush them out before they have a chance to do any real damage.
Come Get A Better Smile
When we say, “come get a better smile today” at Total Dental Care of Columbia, SC, we mean it. But if you don’t come today, please remember to at least visit us twice a year.
When you are here, our warm and accommodating staff members will immediately make you feel welcome.
Plus, Dr. Forbes always makes sure that you have all the information you’ll need to make informed decisions about your oral health moving forward.
Still, if you never keep your appointments, you won’t be at all informed and neither will we.
Whether you realize it or not, the habit of visiting the dentist regularly is perhaps the most important of all in regards to your overall health.
Keeping up with your professional cleanings and exams adds a crucial level of defense against decay, disease, tooth loss, etc.
Coming in twice a year gives us the opportunity to detect and manage (sooner rather than later) any potential problems that are unfolding in your mouth.
