Invisalign For Smile Design

At Total Dental Care of South Carolina, we know that the oral health of our community is no laughing matter.
We see it as our duty to help the people of the Midlands have healthy, happy smiles that are reflective of healthy, happy lives.
Let’s Get Something Straight
Most people were not blessed with perfectly straight teeth. So, if your teeth are crooked, you should know that you are in good company.
Even so, you might be self-conscious about displaying your grin.
As dental health specialists, we always hate to hear that, but we definitely understand and we are always eager to help transform the appearance of your smile.
That said, we can not stress enough that the danger of having crooked teeth goes much deeper than surface appearances.
An overcrowded mouth can lead to swollen gums. This is never a particularly comfortable situation.
Beyond comfort issues, swollen gums are also a sign of periodontal disease, which can be extremely unpleasant.
Moreover, if your teeth are crooked or not residing in their proper position, you will likely have a hard time brushing, flossing, and generally keeping them clean.
This is a bigger deal than you might think because both periodontal disease and cavities are known to be caused by bacteria. If left untreated, they can cause bad breath, which is bad enough. But they can also lead to mouth sores, bloody gums and, eventually, loss of teeth.
There Is A Reason For Our Name
As our name suggests, at Total Dental Care of South Carolina, we aim to be as comprehensive as possible with the oral health services we provide for the people of Columbia.
As such, we are pleased to be a certified Invisalign provider. This is one important way in which we can help you straighten out what’s going on inside your mouth.
Invisalign For Smile Design
Invisalign is quickly becoming one of the most popular modern methods for straightening teeth.
Metal braces are effective, but they’re awkward and, well, obvious. Rather than traditional metal and wires, Invisalign utilizes clear (nearly invisible) trays to reach the same end result.
Our patients appreciate that Invisalign aligners are not only comfortable, they are also virtually unnoticeable. And they are designed in such a way that you can remove them at anytime it is necessary.
An added benefit is that you can eat whatever you want (within reason!) and reminders of dinner won’t be left in your mouth.
Is Invisalign For Me?
These clear braces are recommended for mild to moderate misalignment, but they have proven to be effective in treating some severe bite problems, rotated teeth and overcrowding.
Most of our patients complete their Invisalign treatment in about a year, though this can vary depending on the severity of your issues and, importantly, the level of your compliance with our instructions.
From our perspective, Invisalign, as a treatment option, is great in that it is designed to make the process of correcting your smile much more bearable.
And that should give you something to smile about.
